These past 2 weeks have been extremely busy and tiring, however I have been taking some time to rest and relax in order to prepare for what’s to come. I have been able to visit a college that is a top choice for me, celebrate my bestie’s birthday, and enjoy the fall weather.

I completed Research Assessments 7 and 8 and learned more about cognitive dissonance and use of AI in education. In Research Assessment #7, I learned about the relationship between levels of brand loyalty and cognitive dissonance with complaint behavior and how this relationship can be harmful for a brand/corporation. I learned more about how culture impacts complaint behavior and cognitive dissonance and brand loyalty. I reflected on how complaints and cognitive dissonance are related, proving how our thoughts impact our behaviors and the way we act. In Research Assessment #8, I learned about how cognitive neuropsychology provides a rationale for how a learner interacts with specific programs, helping them receive individualized support. I was very excited as I was annotating and analyzing the article because it directly aligned with my topic of neuropsychology. Neuropsychology helps AI further enhance education as it helps tailor technology to fit the learner’s brain needs and functions. A recurring theme in the article was personalized learning which further illustrates how psychology is a field that works to help a person on an individual basis.

I also conducted interviews with Dr. Amity Lancaster, an FISD psychologist, and Dr. Amber Larue, the FISD team school psychology coordinator. Dr. Lancaster and I discussed her route to becoming a school psychologist and opportunities available for whatever career path in psychology I choose to pursue. I was enlightened by her perspective on the technology aspect in psychology as it removes social aspects, and her advice for me to try both applied and research based psychology. I also talked to Dr. Amber Larue and I learned about how behavior impacts so many things. We chatted about how the population of people have greater awareness about psychology and it makes the job easier because more knowledge makes people want to understand more. I am excited to keep in contact with these professionals.
