About ISM

     The Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) Program is a unique program designed to give high school students the opportunity to research their career of choice under the guidance and direction of a mentor who currently works in the field.

​     In order to be considered for ISM, students go through a rigorous application process that includes an essay and an interview.  Once accepted into this program, students conduct detailed research over their chosen topic of study, build a professional portfolio, grow their professional network, create original work and a final product.  ISM is a valuable opportunity to investigate a career of choice and an excellent launching pad into secondary education and the work force.
