Creativity and Creation

This 9 weeks is fully underway! Our district-wide showcase was a success, and I also treated myself to attending some fun events this past week such as the Dallas Open tennis tournament and LTHS Senior Lock-In. 

My family and I are avid tennis fans so when we heard that a local tennis tournament was moving to Frisco, we were eager to attend. I loved watching some of my favorite players play live and the atmosphere was electric. Also, I enjoyed attending our Senior Lock-In at Strikz with my friends. We had a great time bowling, playing arcade games, and making memories together.

Our showcase went very well and I loved seeing other people’s boards and chatting with students to learn more about their topics and journeys throughout the first semester. As guests started entering, it was nice to greet them and see the people that I personally invited. I did not feel as nervous as I did last year since I had the experience of participating, and reminded my peers to just enjoy the experience. For my Primary Source Assessment, I reflected on the showcase and discussed my experience.

Also, I submitted my Final Product Proposal and my calendar. For my Final Product, I plan to focus on makeup psychology and design a product and explain what makes it so marketable. Makeup has long been a passion of mine and I am excited to create a Final Product about the emotional side of psychology. In order to enhance my Final Product, I sent my proposal to Mrs. Rand, the school psychologist at LTHS. She gave me great feedback and I look forward to applying her advice and editing my proposal.

For Research Assessment #12, I read an article about the effects of sustainable packaging in the beauty industry, and I learned about the goals that the companies Bluebird and Pact Collective (Pact) have to make positive changes in the beauty industry and gained clarity on how sustainability plays a factor in brand innovation and transparency. I plan to use this information and expand on how sustainable packaging appeals to customers, adding that aspect into my Final Product design. 

I am excited to create my Final Product and continue working hard!
