And just like that I have reached the finish line of the fall semester! I am so grateful for all that I have accomplished this past semester and am looking forward to some much-needed time to relax. I plan to spend the break reading, watching some of my comfort shows, and spending time with my loved ones.
Today was our Research Speech which included primary research, secondary research, and information about our Original Work. To prepare for my presentation, I looked over my Research and Interview Assessments and incorporated information from them. I also edited my Original Work to reflect the new research that I have done. I spent this past weekend editing my slides and rehearsing my speech. I called my other friend in ISM and we both ran through our speeches and timed ourselves. Overall, I feel like I was confident and gave a great speech. I will be applying the feedback I received towards my future speeches.
For Research Assessment #10, I researched the job duties and responsibilities of a neuropsychologist. I wanted to learn more about this in order to clearly outline what neuropsychologists do in my Original Work. I learned about how neuropsychologists try to understand the relationship between anatomy and physiology and mental states. This aligns with my beliefs that the way people are anatomically structured affects them, not just emotions/feelings.
I also submitted my Display Board Plan and I used my Display Board from last year as inspiration. I included sections about my Original Work, my topic, my Digital Portfolio, and Quote, Mission Statement, and Resume. It helped me envision what I want my board to look like and allows me to mentally note supplies that I need.
After all of my hard work, it is surreal to think that the fall semester is over. There is so much to be excited about and I can’t wait for what the next semester will bring!
