Preparation Time

This week in ISM I completed my topic proposal and prepared my professional outfit for our Business Symposium. This was an easier week for me and a way to relax and recharge as next week is our Business Symposium, PSAT, and I have four tests to prepare for. My school calendar has been extremely busy, but exciting and eventful. I feel that being busy will help me prioritize and focus on what needs to be done and work efficiently.

Completing my topic proposal was an easier task and I enjoyed creating a formal document with my field of study. This was an assignment that was not as challenging to complete as we have been discussing what career field we want to pursue and why throughout ISM so far. It allowed me to look back upon the experiences that made me fall in love with journalism and cement the fact that I would like to conduct more research into it. Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the weekly assignments that we do, and the topic proposal was a way for me to sit back and picture the long term plans and larger scheme of things.

Also, I picked out my professional outfit and it was fun to get dressed up in a blazer and bring my vision of a professional outfit to life. I think choosing it helped fully solidify the fact that I will be meeting professionals very soon and has helped mentally prepare me for our field trip next Wednesday. There is so much going on, but I am certain that these adventures will help strengthen me and be a memorable experience.

In class, we have been reviewing expectations for the Business Symposium and I feel that this preparation will help us tremendously as we know what to expect when we meet with professionals. There is so much to accomplish and do this week, can’t wait!
