Whew, this week in ISM was a whirlwind! This week I completed Research Assessment 2 and a rough draft of my resume. Research Assessment 2 was an annotated bibliography and was challenging for me to complete as I was juggling my other class assignments and had trouble focusing on it this week. I had an AP Chemistry test, an AP US History retest, and an English vocab quiz to prepare for this week. Despite these challenges, I enjoyed choosing five articles about my topic as it allowed me to brainstorm and satisfy my curiosity about scientific journalism, other media’s impacts on journalism, and overall learn about some topics I was wondering about. It was an enlightening experience, and I think that completing several reflective annotations was beneficial as it was not lengthy, allowing me to look back on the main points and relate its usefulness to my own research. This process highlighted how important it is for me to enhance my time management skills and stay focused especially when there will be more difficult and time consuming assignments in the future.
I also completed a rough draft of my resume which was fun to create as I liked incorporating colors from my own personal website/digital portfolio to my resume and I took inspiration from my LinkedIn which helped me greatly. A resume is brief, but also summarizes who a person is, and I think that is a very special and important tool for my future. I am so excited to grow and experience many things this school year in ISM, we’re just getting started!
